The Holodomor National Awareness Tour

About us

The Holodomor National Awareness Tour is a project of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation. Supported by the Government of Canada and the Governments of Ontario and Manitoba, we raise awareness about the Holodomor and help build a strong democratic and tolerant society.

Starving girl over map of Ukraine

The Holodomor was a famine-genocide carried out in 1932-33 by the Soviet Union led by Joseph Stalin, which resulted in the deaths of millions of people in Soviet Ukraine.

The Holodomor National Awareness Tour features the Holodomor Mobile Classroom (HMC), a state-of-the-art, interactive mobile learning space that engages and educates students and the public across Canada.
