Malcom Muggeridge, traveled to Moscow in 1932 – 1933 where he was a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian. Muggeridge investigate reports of the Great Feminine (HOLODOMOR) in Ukraine, travelling there without obtaining permission of the Soviet authorities. His reports were sent back to The Manchester Guardian in British diplomatic bags, thus evading Soviet censorship. The Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre interviewed Malcom Muggeridge in 1982 for its 1983 award-winning documentary film Harvest of Despair.
